One of the pains for the independent author is self-promotion. We tend to be introverted and lacking in self-confidence – blowing our own trumpets feels painfully unnatural to many of us.
I’m no exception, so writing an article about my weblit series and why you should read it is more of a challenge than I hoped.
Let’s start with the basics:
Title: Dragon Wars
Elevator Pitch: A group of British teens who find themselves struggling to end a war which started millenia ago.
“Cover” Blurb: Weird events have beset the Stevens Quadruplets since infancy. But nothing can prepare them for the day they open their door and find another world outside. A world inhabited by intelligent mythical creatures, most of whom are hostile to humanity. And it seems they are expected to save it from its ancient enemy – the dragons.
Even with the help of their bonded ‘heart friends’ can they save both this strange, new world and Earth when the people they are trying to help want to kill them?
Target Audience? I describe it as Young Adult Fantasy, but really it’s fantasy with young adult protagonists, but good for all ages.
Update Schedule: Around 1000 words is posted every Monday and Friday. So far I haven’t missed an update and I’ve been posting for six months.
Will you like it? That depends on your tastes in genre and style. With any story that isn’t irredeemably bad some people will like it, and some won’t. I like it, but I’m biased. I have some dedicated readers and my readership is growing, so it must have some merit. It certainly can’t hurt to take a look can it?
