And the staff’s only commented once about ‘vital information’ missing from the current page. Information they consider vital, but which we now can choose to view or not, to our preferences. Because, you know, not everyone considers the same information vital.

And of course, there’s been numerous comments to the effect that those of us who don’t like the new design ‘just don’t like change’, etc.

Hmph. I’ve been working with web design for about a decade now. Yes, it was HTML I was doing professionally for a few years there, but have since messed about with PHP, Flash, CMS,etc stuff.

I think I’ve a pretty good grasp on the fact that change isn’t some scary monster out to get me. I think I know it’s necessary in several instances as better technologies become available.

I think those people who keep saying those voicing complaints ‘just don’t like change’ are pissing me the hell off.

That’s what I think.

I should post the screenshots of this I took this morning, along with what the page currently looks like.

I can see those who’ve done any web design just falling over laughing at the comparison between the two.

Of course, it’ll take 3 images to show the new overview page in its entirety, compared to one to show the current page…because the current page is so neat and clean in design.

This is getting more interesting to me by the moment. Someone said something about the ‘smart layout’. They’ve obviously never done any web design.

It’s clunky and unprofessional looking.

Another one commented that they should add animated gifs to make it look really unprofessional. I almost busted a gut over that one.

Currently, we have:

It’ll be interesting to see what the staff decides to do if the majority of comments continue to rise with the ‘don’t like its’ leading.
