And It is Almost Finished

Posted By Scath on June 22, 2008

Book 0, that is. I sent the last three stories off last night for proofing/editing. Depending on any necessary changes, all that will be left to do is format, cover art, and selecting a title once the contest is over. So, expect it to be available soon after July 16th, the contest’s cut off date.

I’ll be moving onto Rising Moon.

In other news, I won’t be around Monday and Tuesday. We’re taking a short little family vacation, so no updates on those two days. Well, possibly one Tuesday evening, as we should be back by then.

I think I’m going to keep the word counts for the series at around 35,000. That would make them category novels in length, and a relatively easy goal to bring each one to a conclusion that leads onto the next one. They’ll be priced at $5.25 for e-book and Kindle editions, not sure on the paperback pricing at this time.

You know, another 2,000 word short would bring Book 0 up to that. Hmm.

Eleven stories total. The word counts of those completely finished are: 1,085 / 2,121 / 2,153 / 1,948 / 1,928 / 13, 034 / 761 / 1,232 .

The three being proofed: 1,485 / 2,497 / 4,723 .

And I think that’s all for me today. I’ll be over on my WIPs page, adding the nifty little progress widgets.

You have a lot of WIPs. If I let myself start that many at once, I’d never finish most of them. Then again, even if I start one at a time, there’s still the very real chance that I won’t finish most of them. You never know. :P

Well, I learned why I’ve gotten into such a writing groove over the past year or so!

I haven’t been watching TV. At all.

At the motel last night, I was propped up on the bed, all prepared to work on Rising Moon while the kids and D watched TV.

Instead, I watched three episodes of CSI, and one of The Closer. Oh, and part of a Law And Order ep, too.

    Got jack all done.

    TV, bad for my creativity!

I know exactly how you feel. I never, ever watch TV. That is, until my boyfriend made me watch an episode of Medium and then I just happened to catch a snippet of Desperate Housewives before it started, and then Grey’s Anatomy after it, and… you get the idea. It’s like a drug!

It is a drug! I was sitting there all open-mouthed and drooling, lol, watching crimes be solved. No blinking, total brainwashing.

No TV. Iz bad! BAD! :)
