I was sitting there minding my own damn business the other night, and HE decided it was time to speak up.  You have to handle them sternly, you know.

Wolfe : I want to talk to you.

Me : About what?

Wolfe : My life.

Me : Oh. Okay, shoot.

Wolfe : Don’t tempt me.

Me : Excuse me?

Wolfe : The tree thing? That hurt, lady.

Me : Talk to your alpha about that.

Wolfe : She’s….er, your daughter.

Me : Your point?

Wolfe : (grinning) See? That was a Connor response. She’s a figment of your imagination.

Me : Newsflash, so are you.

Wolfe : (not grinning) I know that. You’re talking to yourself.

Me : No, my self is talking to me.

Wolfe : What?

Me : (very patiently) You initiated this conversation, not me.

Wolfe : Uh…sure, fine, okay. You’re a very strange person.

Me : Tell me about it.

Wolfe : Was that an invitation, or are you just…

Me : Did you have a point in all this?

Wolfe : No more trees.

Me : I make no promises.

Wolfe : That’s not encouraging.

Me : Deal with it.
